About the Partnership
The SF Office of Economic & Workforce Development, NOVAworks, and work2future applied for grant funding from the State of California in support of our regional goals:
- Enhance racial equity in the regional economy
- Support local employers to find the talent they need
- Promote upward mobility of unemployed and underemployed individuals
The Markle Foundation's Skillful program offers a set of proven tools and practices to empower employers seeking to hire the best talent for job openings while not neglecting job seekers who do not have formal degrees or credentials.
Skillful, a nonprofit initiative of the Markle Foundation, is dedicated to enabling all Americans—particularly those without a four-year college degree—to secure good jobs in a changing economy. In partnership with Microsoft and other companies, Skillful continues to develop skills-based training and employment practices in collaboration with state governments, local employers, educators, and workforce development organizations.
The Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD) advances equitable and shared prosperity for San Franciscans by growing sustainable jobs, supporting businesses of all sizes, creating great places to live and work, and helping everyone achieve economic self-sufficiency.
NOVAworks is a nonprofit, federally funded employment and training agency that provides customer-focused workforce development services. We work closely with local businesses, educators, and job seekers to ensure that our programs provide opportunities that build the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to address the workforce needs of Silicon Valley.
work2future helps Santa Clara County residents get the skills and coaching they need to find a new job, get a promotion, or start a new career. We partner with employers to help them stay competitive and manage change with supportive and advisory services.
