The Skillful Talent Series workshops are each 2.5 hours. The information in 102, 103 and 104 builds upon the content from the previous workshops, but you are welcome to take them out of order, if necessary.

Workshop 101: Attract the Right Talent

Description: In SKILLFUL ® Talent Series 101: Attract the Right Talent, an engaging workshop hosted by Skillful, you will learn:

Workshop 102: Candidate Evaluation

Background: People are crucial for a company’s success. By emphasizing a candidates' skills in an interview and through skill assessments you’ll be able to double the effectiveness of your interview process and choose the candidate most likely to succeed. In SKILLFUL ® Talent Series 102, you will learn how to hire the right candidate by using inclusive interview questions that evaluate skills regardless of where or how they were learned.

Description: In this session, you will learn:

  • Avoid filtering out qualified candidates in the screening process
  • Craft interview questions that allow candidates’ opportunity to demonstrate occupational and foundational (also known as “hard” and “soft”) skills
  • Select and design an assessment to accurately evaluate candidates’ skills

Workshop 103: Selection & Onboarding

Background: To accomplish hiring goals, hiring managers are tempted to select and onboard new hires as fast as possible. This approach often results in a “sink or swim mentality for onboarding. All too often, organizations rely on outdated checklists to onboard new employees. These processes use a one-size-fits-all approach and make it more difficult for new hires to get up to speed.

When you focus your onboarding on the new hire’s skills you can concentrate on any gaps they may have. This customized, structured onboarding approach was found to increase the likelihood that a new hire will stay for three years by 69% according to the SHRM Foundation.

Description: In SKILLFUL ® Talent Series 103: Selection and Onboarding, you'll learn how to:

  • Create guidelines for your selection process to identify and reduce bias
  • Select the best candidate based on their skills

Workshop 104: Employee Retention

Creating a workforce plan is crucial for the success of your company to ensure that as your company grows, your employees grow with it.

Description: In SKILLFUL ® Talent Series 104: Employee Retention, you'll learn how to:

  • Identify what skills your employee has and what they need to develop
  • Set up a training program to upskill new and current employees
  • Create transparent and inclusive advancement opportunities for employees
